Eighty eight and a half

I made a T Swift vid. I already posted it to Facebook, so if you’ve seen it already…watch it again!!!

If you enjoy, share it!

Eighty Eight

Saw The Hunger Games. Overall I thought the characters were really great and the movie was good. However, I wish the cave scenes had been more true to the book! I wanted to see some romancinnnn!

Peeta Mellark. (I know you’re only 20, but) Where have you been all my life?!

I'm going to be THAT girl that posts this picture...

Eighty Seven

I finished The Hunger Games today!! I read half of the book in about 3 hours. It. Was. Awesome!!!!

So I can’t decide if I’m a Peeta fan or a Gale fan. I haven’t seen the actors that are in the movie because I wanted to envision the characters for myself (bc I didn’t get to do that with Harry Potter), and I imagine Gale looking like Prince Caspian. So that kind of makes me love him.

Pretty bad a shot of Chronicles of Narnia characters.
Aslan, Lucy, Edmund, Prince Caspian (L to R)

But then there’s Peeta. He’s so sweet and in love and just vulnerable. I imagine him looking like Goyle from Harry Potter which is weird, because I’m pretty sure he’s supposed to be attractive and I’m also pretty sure I could come up with someone better looking.

Really, Brittan?? That's what you came up with?

But this is definitely NOT what I had in mind for either one of these characters…

Gale and Peeta

…but the more that I look at them, the more they kind of look like Goyle and Prince Caspian. They’re not sooo far fetched.

I immediately started the second book. Bring it on Thursday, let’s see if I can finish in one day.

Eighty Six

(It’s March 27th.)

Lisa and I went bike riding today. I haven’t ridden a bike in probably 10 years, so I was a little nervous. But…it was awesome! We rode probably a total of 14 miles around the PTC golf cart paths. It was perfect. And we even rode to Starbucks to get an iced coffee. New obssession.

Off topic: Does anyone know of an independant coffee shop in or around PTC. I would rather support local business than Starbucks, but I don’t know of any?

Eighty five

Red. Hot. Yoga.

Hooooly moly people. It was intense. But, a different kind of intense than Boot Camp or running. It was 90 minutes of pure sweat. I’m talking there was not a dry place on my body at the end of that class.
-sports bra
…were soaking wet. My fingers were shriveled. And it felt so good. Lisa and I were loopy after class. We rode around ATL in our sports bras because we were so wet with sweat. haha.

Contrary to what you see, there is no headband in my hair.

There were a couple times that I felt a little nauseous and faint, but I rested through one pose, and it rejuvinated me. I was pretty proud of myself. Of course, in a class of about 50 people in a yoga studio, there were those beautiful yoga sculpted bodied women that make you not want to look in the mirror. Especially in the 105 degree heat, you can imagine the booty shorts and sports bras that were going on. But, I tried to not compare (isn’t that the story of our lives) and focus on me. After all, yoga is about yourself and your limits. Not the girl with perfect form that can do things I seriously didn’t know were possible.

I’m not gonna lie, there were some points in the class I really didn’t want to be there…like when you look frantically for a clock and discover there isn’t one?! But, overall I felt rejuvinated and introspective. And, like all exercise but heightened with this particular practice, the euphoric feeling after 90 minutes of sweaty goodness compares to nothing.

If you’re looking for a studio, this is a great option. Downside: it’s expensive, but I got a groupon!! 20 classes for $60…but it was a 70% discount. Usually 20 classes are about $200. I’m scared I’m going to fall in love and then not be able to support my habit! Eek!!

Eighty four

(It’s March 25th.)

Non and I went to lunch with Brad, Betty, the girls and Kimber at Brio. It was beyond delicious. I had one of the best Bloody Marys ever and a Chicken panini with chipotle mayonnaise, cheese, peppers, and onions.

After our lovely brunch, Non and I took Stratton to Lenox with us and we shopped! And of course made our weekend appearance at Target. Of course.

What a beautiful day!

Eighty Three

(It’s March 24th.)

Mim and Pap had the 69th wedding anniversary on Thursday. 69 years!! Can you even believe that?! That’s 3x older than Charlie. haha. We had them over for a delicious dinner, but in order to do that, the house needed to be cleaned. And I mean cleeeeeeaned. So, Mom told me she’s pay me to clean the house. Like deep clean. Dust, vaccuum, bathrooms, swiffer, etc. Instead of cold hard cash, I had her pay for a groupon that I wanted (20 classes at Red Hot Yoga!!).

Anyways, the house is spic and span and I had time to make a Lemonade Cake.

It was a great meal and a great cake and great reminiscing.

I love my family!

Eighty Two

(It’s March 23rd.)

I finally finished with my room. Like arranging furniture, painting, and most pictures. I’ve still got more pictures to hang and I’m going to rehang some of the others in other places, but overall it looks great. Here are some before and afters!

Old (and messy) bed, wall color, and dresser!

Fresh shelves.

In Process

I'm recovering an ottoman to sit in front of the mirror. Still some stuff missing. I'm wallpapering, but it doesn't look quite right.

Dud built these shoe shelves. Perfecto!

New color, new bed! I'm moving those pictures above the bed. I have to find a place for Audrey!!

Arranged shelves. I love arranged shelves!

Up close and personal.

I want to sit in that chair and read. The Hunger Games!

New and improved dresser and jewelry boards.

What do you think?!

Eighty One

(It’s March 22nd.)

Two cousins in one week!! Tonight I hung out with my favorite Marsh cousin, Kimber.  We went to our place of choice, Dwarf House. Late night. That’s when DH is the best. Of course we had good convo. My own personal psychologist! haha. And we got to chat it up with our waitress Dorothy. Been with us through thick and thin. Love that woman. And love K!

(It’s March 21st.)

Today I painted my room. It used to be light pink with tan stripes. Sort of along these lines (haha, pun intended).

Pink and Tan (But it looked like green)

I searched and searched for the perfect color, which really means that I looked at a lot of blogs and a lot of Pinterest, and finally decided on the perfect one. Now, while I was painting I didn’t completely love it, but once it was all finished I completely loved it. Great how that worked out! My new color is a bit like this.

Just the right amount of teal. Tame teal to be exact. Sherwin Williams.
